| CPL produces annually approximately 15 Million coconuts, the raw materials required for coconut kernel processing. The arrangements are being made to venture into a coconut value addition by establishing the 1st government owned Coconut Related Product Manufacturing Company in Sri Lanka. The total investment would be around 600 Million and the CPL will hold 60% of shares of the Company to be incorporated shortly for the purpose. The foreign exchange earnings would be around 17 Million US Dollars. It has been estimated to process approximately 50,000 coconuts per day and produce initially coconut milk, low fat DC and coconut water which products are to be exported. Further, it is expected to produce coconut milk powder, coconut oil, white coconut oil, coconut flour, coconut milk cream, virgin coconut oil, coconut cell charcoal, coconut husk fiber and chips etc., as well in the future. | |
