| The Chilaw Plantations Limited (CPL) manages a total of approximately 14,000 acres of lands located in the districts of Puttalam, Kurunegala and Gampaha. Some blocks of lands managed under Thambapanni and Mangalaeliya Area Estates located in the Puttalam district in the dry zone, have been identified as ideal locations for the establishment of solar power generating plants. CPL wishes to enter into a joint venture in this regard on which the CPL receives free profit shares of 10% to 15%. An investor too has been identified in this regard and wishes to establish the plants in the near future. The total investment on the project would be around 2.5 billion. | |
